I realize I was still hoping there had been some of kind of mistake with my lymph node biopsy with showed at least one positive node. However, since I had two large "mildly suspicious" nodes, I am not shocked that I have two positive nodes out of twenty five. On the bright side, there are fewer than four positive nodes which seems to be a cutoff number between my stage and more serious stage.
Also, the surgeon was able to get clear margins. So, it appears that all visible cancer has been removed. I will meet with the oncologists at the NCI center and at the other hospital to see what they recommend about chemo. And, I will have to make a final decision about where to get treatment for chemo and for hormonal therapy. I'm leaning toward the doc I know from last cancer, but I'm hesitant to leave the NCI center without some serious thought.
